This morning, Huawei's consumer business announced its first half of 2018. In the first half of this year, Huawei shipped more than 95 million smartphones, surpassing Apple, and its second-quarter global market share ranked second. However, today's Taiwanese media "Electronic Times" published an article that counted another interesting "achievement" of Huawei.

The report quoted Sigmaintell Consulting's data report as saying that in the first half of this year, the world's top six mobile phone manufacturers' "Liu Haiping" mobile phones shipped a total of 86.1 million units. Among them, Huawei's shipments were 25.4 million units, surpassing Apple's 20.7 million units, ranking first in the world. However, as we all know, the iPhone sold in the first half of this year is only the iPhone X model with "Liu Haiping" design.

Behind Apple are OPPO, vivo and Xiaomi. Samsung has "bottomed out" on this list, and the company has not launched a mobile phone with "Liu Haiping".

In addition, the report also recorded some relatively unobtrusive data. For example, in the first half of this year, global shipments of a-Si LCD panels (amorphous silicon technology) reached 390 million units, a decrease from 50% in the same period last year to 42%. Shipments of LTPS LCD panel handsets (low temperature polysilicon) increased by 23.7% year-on-year to 340 million units, with a share of 36%. In comparison, shipments of AMOLED mobile phone panels fell 2.6% year-on-year to 200 million units, with a share of 21%.
